Job Description:

Utilizes Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better
understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Extracts data from GIS
software and uses varying analysis methods to arrive at results. Recommends appropriate
reactionary strategies in response to GIS analysis. Provides maps and data sets to clients to
supplement analysis. Knowledgeable of GIS software and technology. Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. Reviews
engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and
standards. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a
particular field.

• Use of ArcGIS to create and analyze pipelines, facilities and other company asset features.
• Use of ArcGIS to create maps using various themes to present data for presentation or research purposes.
• Monitor mapping work and the updating of maps in order to ensure accuracy, the inclusion of new and/or changed information, and compliance with rules and regulations.
• Research resources such as survey maps and legal descriptions in order to verify property lines and to obtain information needed for mapping.
• Utilize good communication skills working with engineers and field employees.
• Use of AutoCAD to transform initial design into working drawings.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Geography. GIS or related field preferred. Work experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Knowledge of survey practices and land grid (U.S. Public Land Survey).
• Knowledge of GPS principals and practices.
• Familiarity with shape files, database input and coordinate systems.
• Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or related drafting programs.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
